Callie Watts is a singer/songwriter from Northern California who was raised on classical music, The Beatles and The Beach Boys before discovering Joni Mitchell, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Carole King, and all the great writers of the ’60s and 70’s who have influenced her sound and writing style. After graduating high school, Callie began playing and performing solo, as well as in local and bay area bands of different genres. She’s played blues with Eric Lindell and the Reds, funky soul with Phatty, and jazz/swing with Savoy Swingers along with many other various projects. Callie has taken turns throughout her career as a keyboardist, guitarist, writer, and lead/backing vocalist, and she’s currently a member of the dynamic Sonoma County funk rock band Frobeck, having joined in 2010. Over time, she’s had the honor of opening for acts such as Bootsy Collins, Elvin Bishop, Huey Lewis and The News, War, Ozomatli, Bill Champlin, Booker T, and the B52s. Callie continues to perform frequently as an acoustic solo artist, focusing on developing a core audience and a buzz for her original material.
